Chickens Won't Use Nipple Waterer? 24-Hour Training

Steps

  1. Tap pins to show drops – do in front of boldest hen.
  2. Smear wet mash on pins once.
  3. Remove other water 12-24h (not in extreme heat – winter fine). Leave nipple only.
  4. Check crops at dusk – full = learned. If flat, give open water 1h then retry.
  5. Keep one open backup 2 days, then remove – half flocks revert if both offered.

Ducks exception – need open – ducks. See nipple vs trough.
