How to Clean a Heated Chicken Waterer in Winter

  1. Unplug, empty – carry, don't drag cord.
  2. Warm water + stiff brush, 1:10 vinegar soak 10 min for scale – no bleach on metal element.
  3. Flush nipples – press each, run clean water through.
  4. Dry gasket, thin silicone if sticking – see lid fix.
  5. Refill with cool (not hot) water – hot trips thermostat weird + cracks cold plastic.

Summer: unplug, deep clean, store dry out of sun. Test in Sept before freeze – see pillar.
